M1 Traffic Update: Major Motorway Disruption Due to Lorry Fire
Just moments ago, chaos erupted on the M1 as a lorry was engulfed in flames, prompting swift action from the fire service. But here's where it gets controversial: the impact of such incidents on daily commuters can be profound, leading to frustration and delays that ripple throughout the entire area.
In light of this emergency, a diversion route has been established for drivers to follow. Here are the detailed instructions:
Begin by exiting at Junction 14, then turn left onto the A509 towards Northfield Road Roundabout.
From there, take the third exit heading west onto the A509 Portway.
Continue on the A509 Portway, passing through several roundabouts—these include Pineham, Pagoda, North Overgate, North Skeldon, Belvedere, North Secklow, North Saxon, North Witan, and North Grafton (that’s a total of nine roundabouts) until you arrive at the A5/A509 Portway Roundabout.
At the A5/A509 junction, take the third exit to head northwest on the A5.
Keep driving on the A5 until you reach the Old Stratford Roundabout, where you will merge with the A5/A508/A422.
At the Old Stratford Roundabout, proceed to take the fourth exit onto the A508 heading northeast.
Continue straight on the A508, passing through Grafton Regis and Roade until you can re-join the M1 at Junction 15.
Navigating through unexpected detours can be challenging, particularly during peak travel times. Have you ever found yourself stuck in a similar scenario? What are your thoughts on how road incidents are managed? Share your experiences and opinions in the comments below!
