Green Bay Packers Make Strategic Moves: Havrisik, Banks Join, Alexandre Departed
The Green Bay Packers have made some strategic moves on the roster, as announced by General Manager Brian Gutekunst on Saturday. The team has signed kicker Lucas Havrisik, tackle Brant Banks, and released defensive lineman Deslin Alexandre.
Lucas Havrisik, a 6-2, 185-pound second-year player from the University of Arizona, has an impressive background. He spent time on the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts in 2022 and was with the team during the 2023 offseason and training camp. Havrisik then joined the Cleveland Browns' practice squad in 2023 before being signed to the Los Angeles Rams' active roster. During his time with the Rams, he appeared in nine games, making 15 of 20 field goals and 19 of 22 extra points. He also recorded seven touchbacks on eight kickoffs. Havrisik returned to the Browns for the 2024 offseason and training camp and later spent time on the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills. In 2025, he played in 10 games for the Dallas Renegades, making 22 of 25 field goals. He will don the number 35 jersey for the Packers.
Brant Banks, an undrafted free agent from Rice, signed with the Packers on May 2, 2025. He has been a versatile player, spending time on both the practice squad and the active roster during the regular season, appearing in two games. Banks was claimed off waivers by the Tennessee Titans on October 1 but was released just a week later on October 9. He will wear the number 72 jersey for the Packers.
These moves demonstrate the Packers' strategic approach to building a strong roster, with a focus on bringing in talented players and making efficient use of their resources. As the season progresses, fans can expect to see these players contribute significantly to the team's success.
