Eventually, they agreed to support the measure, but the crucial 60-vote threshold was only reached after Texas Senator John Cornyn rushed back from his home state to cast his vote.
The eight Democratic senators who voted in favor of the measure were Jeanne Shaheen, Maggie Hassan, Angus King, Dick Durbin, Tim Kaine, John Fetterman, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Jacky Rosen.
